Bertha International Institute of Arts and Sciences has established a groundbreaking scholarship programme and transnational research consortium focused on ethical innovation and sustainable development. The initiative reinforces the Institute’s leadership in cultivating globally conscious scholars capable of addressing systemic societal and environmental challenges.
The Global Impact Scholarship will support exceptional students across university, K12, and pre-university levels, prioritising projects that integrate arts, technology, and climate resilience. Recipients will gain access to a mentorship network comprising Nobel laureates, UNESCO advisors, and industry pioneers in fields ranging from circular economy design to AI ethics.
A newly formed Africa-Europe Knowledge Alliance connects the Institute with leading academic hubs such as the Bertha Centre for Social Innovation and the Association of African Universities’ 2025 climate action initiatives. Collaborative projects include AI-driven agricultural solutions for arid regions, digital preservation of indigenous knowledge systems, and interdisciplinary frameworks for SDG-aligned policymaking.
The Institute has also introduced Ethical Innovation Labs, where students develop prototypes addressing education inequality, renewable energy accessibility, and sustainable urban mobility. These labs employ design thinking methodologies combined with machine learning analytics, enabling real-time impact assessment and iterative problem-solving.
